YINAN DU

Yinan Du is a Los Angeles–based multimedia artist working across animation, experimental filmmaking, and installation. Her practice centers on translating the untranslatable—exploring themes such as national tension, gender marginality, female desire, and post-traumatic reconciliation.

She draws from folklores, mythology, and historical remnants to craft narratives that rethink the past and construct analogies for the present. Her style is fierce, bodily, visceral, and inherently sabotaging—a practice of rupture that resists containment.

Her films have screened at film festivals and prestigious institutions globally, including Academy Museum of Motion Picture, Shanghai Pride Festival, Points Gallery, Kun Chef Gallery, among others. Her work has been recognized by press outlets such as VoyageLA. She holds an MFA in Experimental Animation.
