Rolling 

Silent Partners Grant - Each month, Silent Partners issues two $1,000 grants. Both are one-time payments awarded by our Decision Panel. These grants provide direct support to Brooklyn-based Black artists, activists, and community organizers to support their work. Deadline: Open all month, or until 100 applications are received.

Stochastic Labs Residencies - Stochastic Labs awards fully sponsored residencies to exceptional engineers, artists, scientists, and entrepreneurs from around the world. Residencies are of variable length and include a private apartment at the mansion, co-working and/or dedicated work space, shop access (laser cutter, 3D printer etc), a $1k monthly stipend and a budget for materials. Residents become part of Stochastic’s creative community, participating in weekly dinners and invitation events. Residents may apply as individuals or as teams. While applicants may be at any stage in their career, the selection is highly competitive. Deadline: Rolling

NARS Foundation Studio Relief Program - NARS’ mission is geared towards creating community while fostering expansion and exchange of artistic and cultural practices. Since March 2020, we have witnessed the devastating impact that the current health crisis has had on the cultural sector and specifically in artists and in the development of their work. With this in mind we have decided to dedicate part of the NARS Studios to 2-3 individual NY based artists who are in need of a space but unable to afford it. The subsidized studio space is available for 3 months, and is a work-space only. Throughout this time, artists will have 24/7 access to their spaces and will be able to liaise with a diverse artistic community.  The selection of artists works through an Rolling Application System, and is juried by NARS Staff and other arts professionals related to our organization (former Studio Visitors and Alumni). LMCC Creative Engagement -  Creative Engagement is an arts funding program that provides seed grants to individual artists and nonprofit organizations for projects and activities that offer Manhattan communities diverse artistic experiences. Each year, the program supports over 150 arts projects in Manhattan, including concerts, performances, public art, exhibitions, screenings, festivals, workshops, readings and more. Deadline: September 14, 2021

Fulbright Program - The Fulbright Program is an American scholarship program of competitive, merit-based grants for international educational exchange from 2 to 12 months for students, scholars, teachers, professionals, scientists and artists. Under the Fulbright Program, competitively selected American citizens may become eligible for scholarships to study, conduct research, or exercise their talents abroad; and citizens of other countries may qualify to do the same in the United States of America. Deadline: September 15, 2021

Guggenheim Fellowships - Guggenheim Fellowships are intended for individuals who have already demonstrated exceptional capacity for productive scholarship or exceptional creative ability in the arts. Fellowships are awarded through an annual competition open to citizens and permanent residents of the United States and Canada. Candidates must apply to the Guggenheim Foundation in order to be considered. The Foundation receives approximately 3,000 applications each year. Although no one who applies is guaranteed success in the competition, there is no prescreening: all applications are reviewed. Approximately 175 Fellowships are awarded each year. Deadline: September 17, 2021

Culture Push: Black Utopian Fellowship - Our Black Utopian Fellowship is a year-long Fellowship for Black artists, researchers, scientists and inventors, with career development and mentorship through a connection with Black-run institutions. The intent of the Black Utopian Fellowship is to share resources and support social engagement, educational programming, and revitalization of communal hubs. The Fellowship program is open to Black artists and other professionals working in any discipline who wish to expand the boundaries of their practice. Deadline: September 24, 2021

Culture Push: Fellowship for Utopian Practice - Culture Push launched the Fellowship for Utopian Practice in 2012 to support boundary-pushing, interdisciplinary and socially engaged artwork. The Fellowship is a process-based program aimed at artists and other creative people who are seeking to test new ideas through civic engagement. Culture Push offers the Fellows concrete financial and institutional support, including feedback and mentoring, a stipend, and fiscal sponsorship for fundraising efforts, and heightened legibility, through support from the Culture Push institution. During the Fellowship year, Fellows collaborate with different communities and the Culture Push staff to find viable working methods for realizing ambitious hybrid projects. While Culture Push emphasizes the visual and performing arts, the Fellowship program is open to people working in any discipline aiming to expand their practice beyond its traditional borders. Deadline: September 24, 2021

Affect and Colonialism Web Lab Digital Fellowship - The Affect and Colonialism Web Lab offers two digital fellowships from November 2021 until April 2022. The idea of this program is to bring together two persons with different backgrounds, one being a university-based researcher and another from outside academia working in the arts, journalism, or activism. For a period of six months, the tandem of fellows will receive an honorarium that enables them to devote a significant amount of time and energy to realize a larger joint online exhibition format for the Web Lab. These formats can go far beyond a series of short videos and can include a curated selection of commissioned digital artwork, online events, digital roundtables or lectures, or other interactive formats that prospective fellows will be free in proposing and realizing. Pioneer Works Music Residency - Pioneer Works encourages radical thinking as evidenced by providing an interdisciplinary cast of practitioners a free space to work, tools to create, and a platform to exchange ideas. Each September, we select residents through an open call. Aided by a jury of experts and Alumni Residents, Pioneer Works welcomes residents who work outside existing models and “norms” of their field and will benefit from our unique facilities and culture. As such, Pioneer Works shifts and evolves to reflect the interests and work of each new cohort of residents, from public education offerings to Second Sundays, a monthly forum of artistic experimentation through activations, open studios, and performance. Deadline: September 30, 2021

Recess Arts Critical Writing Program - The Critical Writing program commissions emerging writers to pursue the underlying themes and ideas that inform individual Session projects, initiating meaningful exchanges between artists and writers and facilitating the mutual production of new work. Fellows are given editorial support and a $1000 honorarium. Editorial support for Critical Writing provided by Kemi Adeyemi, Well Read. Deadline: September 30, 2021

Siena Art Institute Summer Residency - The Siena Art Institute’s Summer Residency Program awards accomplished professional artists & writers the opportunity to stay for a month in the beautiful historic city of Siena, in the heart of Tuscany, Italy. The month-long Summer Residency Program grants resident artists a studio space at the Siena Art Institute & a private 1-bedroom apartment in the historic city center of Siena, as well as flight compensation for getting to and from Italy.  Summer Residents are granted uninterrupted time to pursue their own independent projects, as well as the opportunity to explore the area of Siena, and interact with the local community. Applications are now being accepted for the 2022 residency session. Deadline: September 30, 2021

Artadia Award - Atlanta - The Artadia Awards provide financial support, exposure and recognition to artists. The awards are unrestricted, allowing artists to use the funds in any way they choose. Deadline: October 1, 2021

Lighthouse Works’ Fellowship Program  - Lighthouse Works’ Fellowship Program is an artist-in-residence program that strives to support artists and writers working in the vanguard of their creative fields. We are proud to have supported these artists, writers, and composers with the time and space to focus on their creative work. The program accepts artists working in a wide range of disciplines, but we are best able to accommodate visual artists and writers. Fellowships are six weeks in length, occur year round and provide fellows with housing, food, studio space, a $250 travel allowance and a $1,500 stipend. Artistic excellence is the primary criteria for acceptance as a Lighthouse Works fellow. Deadline: October 1, 2021

Mophradat Grant for Artists’ Practice - In order to develop an art practice — an ongoing process of production based on conceptual and formal investigation — artists need time, stimulating input, access to technical skills, conversations with peers, and exchange with audiences. To facilitate these evolving processes, Mophradat is introducing this revised version of what was the Grants for Artists program to include two components: first, providing artists with flexible financial support that can be used towards their livelihood, and/or for ongoing research, and/or the realization of a particular proposal. Second, connecting the participating artists with their peers (of the selection committee) with whom they will engage in a structured dialogue over three sessions throughout the grant period. Deadline: October 1, 2021

Manifest Gallery TAPPED - Most working artists have been a student at some point in time. Most have reached where they are because of this. Out of respect for this artist-teacher bond, and in honor of instructors working hard to help artists tap into a higher mind relative to art and life, we offer TAPPED every year, an annual exhibit that presents paired works of art by current or former artist/teacher pairs. Deadline: October 2, 2021

Mark Arts National Watercolor Exhibition -The National Watercolor Exhibition is a popular exhibition for leading watercolorists across the country and is enjoyed by the Wichita community and collectors. Deadline: October 2, 2021

Craft Research Fund Artist Fellowship - The purpose of the Craft Research Fund - Artist Fellowship is to advance, expand, and support the creation of new research and knowledge through craft practice. Awards of $20,000 will be granted to two artists to support research projects relating to the goals of the Craft Research Fund - Artist Fellowship. At the end of the grant period Fellows will present their new body of work in an exhibition at the Center for Craft as well as present their research methodologies and findings at an educational program. Deadline: October 4, 2021

NARS Foundation International Residency Open Call - NARS Foundation hosts international and US-based artists for a minimum of 3-month residencies, providing space and time in an artist community, located in Sunset Park, Brooklyn.Artists receive curatorial and project support, weekly studio visits, networking opportunities, and participate in a program designed to foster artistic experimentation and exchange among peers. In addition, artists have opportunities to present their work through virtual or public programming, exhibitions, and bi-annual Open Studios. This program may vary depending on the current COVID-19 regulations. Deadline: October 4, 2021

Embracing Our Differences International Art Exhibit Celebrating Diversity - The centerpiece of Embracing Our Differences is an outdoor juried art exhibit featuring 50 billboard size images created by local, national and international artists and writers. The display reflects the artists' interpretations of the theme "enriching lives through diversity." The exhibit is displayed annually at Bayfront Park in downtown Sarasota. The winning artworks combine a deep understanding of both medium and message. Deadline: October 6, 2021

Foundwork Artist Prize - The Foundwork Artist Prize is an annual juried award started in 2019 to recognize outstanding practices by contemporary artists working in any media. Beginning this year, the prize will be awarded to two honorees, both of whom will receive unrestricted $10,000 grants and studio visits with each of the distinguished jurors. Deadline: October 10, 2021

Bronx Museum AIM Fellowship - Since 1980, the Bronx Museum of the Arts has supported New York’s artist community through the AIM Fellowship, the museum’s flagship artist development program offering career management resources to guide emerging artists through the opaque professional practices of the art world. Mentored by a distinguished faculty of industry experts, AIM Fellows engage in a nine-month long series of intensive seminars and activities covering a wide range of topics including finance, law, media management, and writing, among others, that aid artists in building sustainable studio practices while expanding peer and professional networks. Since its founding, the AIM Fellowship has provided pivotal career support to a diverse roster of over 1,200 of New York's most promising artists. Deadline: October 11, 2021

PICKING UP THE PIECES: Collage Artists of America’s Annual Juried International Open Virtual Exhibit - Collage Artists of America (CAA) is accepting entries for “Picking Up the Pieces – An Annual Juried International Open Virtual Exhibit” launching November 1 - 30, 2021. We encourage artists to take this opportunity to showcase their collage skills while reflecting upon the past year and looking to brighter futures ahead. Deadline: October 12, 2021

Allan Bérubé Prize - The Allan Bérubé Prize recognizes outstanding work in public or community-based lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and/or queer history completed in 2020 or 2021. Activists, students, faculty, authors, readers, editors, or publishers can nominate. Self- nominations are encouraged. Submission materials (documents, web links, photographs, etc.) are open and should reflect the full scope of the project. Deadline: October 15, 2021

Artadia Award -Houston - The Artadia Awards provide financial support, exposure and recognition to artists. The awards are unrestricted, allowing artists to use the funds in any way they choose. Deadline: October 15, 2021

ArtBase Open Call: Executable Poetry - The first theme is Executable Poetry, for which we invite submissions from artists who explore computation as a tool for poetic composition or decomposition. Accepted artworks could include generative writing, expressive bots, poetic re-interpretations of computer code, hypertext poems, or data-driven poetry. Deadline: October 15, 2021

Art Omi Residency - Art Omi has five distinct residency programs (Architecture, Art, Writers, Dance, Music). Through a competitive jury process, residents are chosen, invited to attend at no cost to themselves, except travel. Abundant, catered meals and comfortable, beautiful lodgings are provided in a scenic location in Columbia County, New York. Art Omi is two hours north of New York City by train. Deadline: October 15, 2021

Squeaky Wheel’s Workspace Residency - Squeaky Wheel’s Workspace Residency is a project-based residency for artists and researchers working in media arts. Offered twice per year, the residency is open to applicants from Buffalo and across the United States who are seeking resources, time, and support for ongoing projects or the creation of new work. Selected applicants will have tailored access to facilities, equipment, technical consultation, from Squeaky Wheel, as well as our Workspace Residency partners Buffalo Game Space, The Foundry, and Silo City. Residents will also have the opportunity to attend guest lectures, are provided with public opportunities to share and receive feedback for their work, and will be invited to a variety of site visits and activities exploring Buffalo’s unique communities and histories. Thomas Edison Film Festival - Renamed in 2021, The Thomas Edison Film Festival (TEFF) is an international juried film competition. We have embraced our mission for decades by focusing on short films including those which shine a light on issues and struggles within contemporary society. We advance and exhibit the work of diverse filmmakers from across the US and around the world. These artists often represent an under-served constituency who may not have the opportunity for live public exhibition. The Festival seeks spirited short films that explore, enrich, and expand the expressive possibilities of film as art. Deadline: October 15, 2021

IPCNY UNFINISHED: New Prints 2022/Winter - New Prints 2022/Winter invites submissions that directly challenge the traditional values of polish and perfection. This loose theme of Unfinished might include ideas about incompleteness, rawness, messiness, illegibility, risk, vulnerability, non-linearity, collectivism, care, queerness, non-normativity, and other concepts that push back against capitalism's relentless drive towards market-based success. This could also include actual work-in-progress, abandoned work, failed work, process, or work that is simply unfinished due to any of the myriad aspects and conditions experienced while living and working during crisis—the radical turbulence of racial injustice, police brutality, class inequity, global pandemic, and climate emergency. Artists Magazine Over 60 Competition - The Artists Magazine Over 60 Art Competition honors work from outstanding artists of every level. Enter to win cash prizes and publication in a special issue of Artists Magazine. Deadline: October 17, 2021

Digital America Journal Submissions - Digital America is interested in pushing the boundaries of online publishing. We publish an array of digital art, internet art, design, and critical essays that question, analyze, and/or hack the tools of digital culture. What gets us excited: Multi-media, film, audio, and new media pieces that engage digital art and/or culture with an eye toward the American experience. We encourage creative responses to these parameters as we understand the complexities of engaging “America” in a global, networked world. Deadline: October 18, 2021

South by Southwest FIlm Festival - SXSW provides the game-changing buzz every filmmaker dreams about for the premiere of their feature film, short, episodic or XR project. The SXSW Film Festival is the only place in the world bringing together creative people from so many different industries, making the SXSW Film Festival an unparalleled experience at the forefront of discovery, creativity, and innovation. The Recharge New Surrealist Prize - The New York Foundation for the Arts (NYFA) is proud to announce the creation of the Recharge New Surrealist Prize, a $7,000 award for painters living in the United States and U.S. Territories who are working in the New Surrealist style. The award program, formerly known as the Recharge Foundation Fellowship for New Surrealist Art, will be administered by NYFA with funding provided by the Gu Family of the Recharge Foundation. Deadline: October 19, 2021

Open Call for The Norfolk Way Art Trail - Norfolk County Council is looking to commission five dynamic new artworks to form the Norfolk Way Art Trail, a brand new outdoor public art trail spanning 250 miles of Norfolk, England. Design a multi-sensory, accessible public artwork that will engage local communities, reveal hidden stories and inspire visitors to explore the county between October – March. There are five locations to choose from and you can submit up to two ideas. Deadline: October 20, 2021

Tribeca Film Festival - The Tribeca Film Festival is a prominent film festival held in the Tribeca neighborhood of Manhattan, showcasing a diverse selection of independent films. Since its inaugural year in 2002, it has become a recognized outlet for independent filmmakers in all genres to release their work to a broad audience. Early Deadline: October 22, 2021

Art Intersection: Little by Little - Little by Little, an exhibition of small artworks, will present a wide variety of art expressed in a size no more than twelve-inches (12″ x 12″ x 12″) in any dimension. Amazing, beautiful, and impactful small works of art presented in a dedicated exhibition from a more intimate viewpoint that begs for a closer look! Deadline: October 23, 2021

Fort Union National Monument Artist in Residence Program - Beautiful northern New Mexico in the spring and fall! Nestled against the far tip of the Sangre de Cristo Range and facing the great plains, Fort Union National Monument is one of New Mexico’s legendary and historic frontier army posts, located in Mora County near Watrous, NM, was the hub of commerce, national defense, and migration at the final stretch of the Santa Fe Trail. Open to all artists, writers, musicians or performance artists. Deadline: October 29, 2021

apexart Open Call - apexart's Open Calls are opportunities for artists, curators, and other professionals to turn their curatorial idea into an apexart exhibition, combined with inviting apexart’s international community to collectively determine our programming through an online jury process. Winning proposals become part of apexart’s next exhibition season and receive funding and staff support. apexart is not a granting organization-all exhibitions are part of apexart’s programming. Deadline: November 1, 2021

PlySpace Residency Program - PlySpace is an immersive Artist-in-Residence program of the Muncie Arts and Culture Council, based in the Emily Kimbrough Historic District in downtown Muncie, Indiana. Deadline: November 1, 2021

The New River: Journal Submission - The New River is a journal of digital writing and art, originally created and edited by Edward Falco. The current managing editors are graduate students enrolled in the MFA in Creative Writing or MFA Creative Technologies program at Virginia Tech. We are interested in receiving submissions of original and unpublished digital writing and art. Before submitting, please review our past issues to familiarize yourself with the kind of work we showcase in our journal. We do not publish conventional poetry and fiction. Deadline: November 1, 2021

Berlinale (Berlin International Film Festival)  - The Berlinale is a unique place of artistic exploration and entertainment. It is one of the largest public film festivals in the world, attracting tens of thousands of visitors from around the globe each year. For the film industry and the media, the eleven days in February are also one of the most important events in the annual calendar and an indispensable trading forum. Arteles: Silence Awareness Existence Thematic Residency  - Silence Awareness Existence is a thematic residency program in Finland for artists and creative minds, engaged in the theme on various fields. The program brings together international artists and professionals from different backgrounds. Artistic, scientific, meditative and existentialistic approaches are all equally embraced. Taking place at the heart of the Northern winter, the conditions are excellent for concentrating intensively on your work, thinking and being, as well as for sharing experiences and ideas with other, similarily oriented minds. There is no pressure to have a concrete productive outcome, in case your focus is more in inner development, self-reflection and research. Deadline: November 4, 2021

The Hopper Prize - The Hopper Prize is a grant-making institution and digital archiving platform offering a series of individual artist grants on a bi-annual basis totaling $22,000.00 USD. We offer grants in the amount of $3,500 and $1,000 to artists around the globe. Deadline: November 16, 2021

Berlinale (Berlin International Film Festival)  - The Berlinale is a unique place of artistic exploration and entertainment. It is one of the largest public film festivals in the world, attracting tens of thousands of visitors from around the globe each year. For the film industry and the media, the eleven days in February are also one of the most important events in the annual calendar and an indispensable trading forum. iCAAD Artivist in Residence - We’re calling on 1-4 artists and creatives to engage with ICAAD in exploring human rights and activism, to create a series of visual art pieces that resonate with ICAAD’s mission of disrupting unjust systems to ensure a more equitable future. Deadline: November 28, 2021

GALLIM Moving Artist Residency - The 2022 GALLIM Moving Artist Residency is a process-based residency in the GALLIM Studio in Brooklyn for Black, Indigenous, Asian, Pacific Islander, Hispanic, Latino/a/x, and people of color movement artists who are women, non-binary, transgender and gender nonconforming, ages 18-30. The residency invites artists to design their creative needs and identify what would most nurture their growth in creation, research, training, and development. This residency is open to, but not limited to, choreographers, dance filmmakers, educators, and performers using a marley sprung floor. Deadline: November 30, 2021

CEC ArtsLink Back Apartment Residency - The ArtsLink Back Apartment Residency program provides opportunities for US and international artists and curators to conduct research, create new work, collaborate with the local arts community, and create special projects in St. Petersburg, Russia. Each residency is individually designed to enable visiting artists and curators to learn about the Russian arts community, develop their own work, and share information about their work and other cultures with local audiences. Deadline: December 1, 2021

The Pushcart Prize - We welcome up to six nominations (print or online) from little magazine and small book press editors throughout the world. We also accept nominations from our staff of distinguished Contributing Editors. The nominations may be any combination of poetry, short stories, essays, memoirs or stand-alone excerpts from novels. We welcome translations, reprints and both traditional and experimental writing. Deadline: December 1, 2021

USArtists International Grant - USArtists International supports performances by U.S. artists at impactful international festivals and performing arts marketplaces outside the United States and its territories. The program supports the engagements of exemplary solo artists and ensembles across all performing arts disciplines including dance, music, theater, multidisciplinary work, and folk/traditional arts. Deadline: December 1, 2021

Publishing Triangle Awards- Submissions are now open for the Publishing Triangle Awards, covering the best LGBTQ books published in calendar year 2021. Deadline: December 7, 2021
