Queer|Art|Mentorship announces its first Annual, an exhibition and events series to be held at Leslie-Lohman Museum of Gay and Lesbian Art from November 14 – 23rd. The multi-disciplinary, inter-generational arts program that pairs and supports mentorship between emerging and established queer artists in NYC, broadens its reach with these public programs, exhibiting artwork from Fellows and from select Mentors from the 2013 – 2014 cycle. The exhibition arrives at the close of the 12-month Mentorship process for the Fellows, with the opening exhibition also serving as the public welcome to the 10 new 2014-2015 Queer|Art|Mentorship Fellows for the upcoming fellowship year.

Collaboration between Q|A|M and Leslie-Lohman commenced last month with the unveiling of the first of two, long-term window projects: Trans Lives Matter! photography by Seyi Adebanjo. The  Annual continues with exhibitions and events at the Museum’s Prince Street Project Space, organized by Curatorial Fellow Rick Herron under the advisory of the current Curatorial Mentor Bradford Nordeen. Featuring work by Moe Angelos, Ella Boureau, Geoff Chadsey, Nicole Goodwin, Vanessa Haroutunian, Pati Hertling, Lain Kay, Peter Knegt, Natalia Leite, Troy Michie, Yoruba Richen, Colin Self, Xeňa Stanislavovna Semjonová, Rose Troche, and Geo Wyeth, and culminating in a second window project Mouths Are Made for Eating by Bridget de Gersigny, opening November 21.

The exhibition will feature a fully-illustrated complimentary publication assembled by Xeňa Stanislavovna Semjonová and Rick Herron, available at all Annual events.
